Out of Stock

Product Description

There were only 1,000 full sets produced in 1963 and over the years many have disappeared or have been partialled out. This is your opportunity to get the full set with the book and the box to protect all and the Book is in excellent condition, p Large hardcover portfolio contains all 12 prints of paintings and drawings by Andrew Wyeth, and the selection of these core works were made by the artist and his wife Betsy. Each print is on 13 x 17 inch art paper. The portfolio has two clear plastic clips, which hold the prints securely. "In 1962 the editors of Art in America proposed to Wyeth a portfolio of reproductions of his recent dry-bush drawings. The artist and his wife suggested the theme, "The Four Seasons," because of the essential role played in his work by the cycle of the seasons. The drawings were selected by Andrew and Betsy Wyeth from works in the house and studio at Chadds Ford, supplemented by some owned by friends. With a few exceptions they had never been exhibited or reproduced. The plates were made directly from the originals."

Any lover of this great artist's work will be delighted with this superlative set. The condition of the prints is excellent, the buckram covered folio Is in excellent condition inside and out with the original box. Wyeth was a visual artist, primarily a realist painter, working predominantly in a regionalist style. He was one of the best-known U.S. artists of the middle 20th century. In his art, Wyeth's favorite subjects were the land and people around him, both in his hometown of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, and at his summer home in Cushing, Maine.

Many of the sets that you see online or here on ebay are only partial sets or a set like this in Bad condition. if you were to go to an Art Gallery and buy the prints separate you'd pay $100 each. With this full set as issued in 1963 you get the box that the book fits, with the introduction and forward along with all 12 prints ready for you to frame and hang in your home or enjoy as is. I have priced this based on the value for the complete as issued 1963 limited edition set.

Before you buy, please read all of the description and look at all the pics. This set is in very good condition and has only minor blemishes to the edge of the prints. The print book is in very good condition, the only item not in good condition is the box it all comes in, but it is still useable to protect all and should be used as such.
