Look Here!On Sale! Was $325 now $250 Here you go! Now this is something a lot of Vintage Leather affici0nado's like to see. This is a 1950's era Steerhide Leather double style half belt Biker jacket with western yoke , kidney panel with spotwork and marks on the epaulets where two stars were at one time and Conmar zippers indicative of the period. . This is a size 38 (measured) There is only the edge left to the original tag (see photos) and from the criss-cross edge stitching on the label I'd say that this jacket is either a Windward (Montgomery Ward) or an old Penny's Steerhide. I personally think this is horsehide , but without a tag telling me so, I'm going to stick with the more typical steerhide of the period of this jacket. The Old Daniel Boone jackets had a tag with crisscross edge stitching or what I call teepee stitching on their tags like this sooooo who knows? Without the tag to say so we can't verify for sure, but it sure has lots of similarities especially that backside ....One of the nice things about this particular jacket are the long sleeves which on many jackets the sleeves are just too short. I wish the jacket were a size 40 and longer, I'd keep it and wear it.
Size 38 U.S , Armpit to Armpit across the chest measurement is 20" outside will be 19" inside so 2 x 19 = size 38, shoulders are 17 1/2', sleeves are 24" long, length down back from nape of collar to hem 21"
I have just taken the jacket to get the front main zipper male tab side brown zipper tape repaired, as it has pulled away and it will be ready to ship in a few days, and in great shape. Don't delay! this one may go fast! A good one for all the vintage leather collectors!
